Walmart’s 2022 Program Updates

By Sophie Brown, Omni Strategy Specialist, VENDO

Customers’ shopping behaviors are rapidly evolving, and Walmart is continuously finding new ways to serve them. Across every department, Walmart’s priority is to meet customers wherever, whenever, and however they’re shopping. This past quarter, Walmart launched a variety of programs and services that directly improve the online shopping experience.

HEALTH & WELLNESS

Many of Walmart’s efforts have been focused on making wellness more accessible for their customers. In recent years, Walmart has become a trusted destination for health and wellness by offering a wide variety of products and services at a great value. In Q1, Walmart launched new and exclusive offerings focused on personal coaching, personalized nutrition, and at-home testing. The offerings, now available via the Wellness Hub, include:

  • BetterUp for Caregivers: BetterUp is a human transformation company that helps people grow personally and professionally through coaching. Walmart and BetterUp have teamed up to offer Walmart customers an exclusive offer. The program provides caregivers access to live group coaching circles led by a professional BetterUp coach and includes customized tools and a community for support.
  • Easy Vitamin Plan: Easy Vitamin Plan has partnered with Walmart to offer its personalized vitamin subscription plan to customers. Easy Vitamin Plan makes customized nutrition accessible and more affordable by offering subscribers a 28-day supply of vitamins that meets their specific needs at an everyday low price.
  • QuestDirect At-Home Tests: Walmart has expanded their at-home testing offerings. Customers now have access to over 50 laboratory-quality tests including COVID-19, digestive health, allergy, heart health and more with options for professional support and guidance from QuestDirect.
BEAUTY

As a top beauty destination, Walmart is continuously expanding their selection and offering convenient access to the best product assortment across beauty. Walmart and British retailer Space NK have teamed up to create BEAUTYSPACENK, which brings prestige beauty products to Walmart.com and nearly 250 Walmart stores this summer. This collaboration combines Walmart’s size and scale with Space NK’s iconic assortment of premium beauty brands and products. BEAUTYSPACENK features a collection specifically curated for the Walmart customer. It spans a variety of price points across skincare, makeup, haircare, and bath and body. The space is organized under four pillars – skincare, makeup, haircare, and bath and body. Available now on Walmart.com, the assortment includes over 600 products from 15 brands with more to come throughout the year.

FASHION

Walmart has successfully established itself as a destination for fashion by expanding their assortment of high-quality, trendy, and accessible apparel and accessories while also introducing new and innovative shopping experiences that make it easier to shop for clothes online. Following last year’s acquisition of Zeekit, Walmart recently introduced the revolutionary technology to their customers. Zeekit combines fashion and technology through its virtual fitting room platform. With Zeekit, Walmart aims to replicate in-person shopping through the inclusive, immersive, and personalized digital experience. The technology will be available for users on the Walmart app and Walmart.com, starting with the Choose My Model feature, which allows customers to select from 50 models between 5’2 – 6’0’ in height and sizes XS – XXXL. Customers can choose the model who best represents their height, body shape and skin tone to better understand how an item will look on them.

BABY

Tot Squad helps make parents’ lives easier by connecting them with trusted experts that align with their budgets and schedules. “I want to normalize parents asking for support and help. They shouldn’t have to spend their precious waking moments finding a provider,” said Jennifer Saxton, Tot Squad’s founder. Since launching in Spring 2020, Tot Squad has been democratizing access to coaching services and making countless parents feel supported. Some of their top experts include sleep consultants, breastfeeding coaches, diet and nutrition experts, and car seat technicians. In collaboration with Walmart, Tot Squad services are now available on Walmart.com in a variety of categories.

Walmart is constantly updating its features, programs and services to improve the shopper’s experience, both online and in stores. More updates will be coming soon!
