CONTEXT

A brand in the home entertainment industry has been experiencing stagnant sales over the past 2years and reached out to VENDO for help. With Q4 and gifting season approaching for this category, VENDO saw an opportunity to employ influencer and affiliate marketing to revamp the brand’s Amazon business.

Tactics

  • VENDO’s marketing team put together a creative brief based on trends within the entertainment industry and social media marketing space.
  • VENDO sourced over 100 influencers from different tiers, finding the ones with the best sales potential that could effectively communicate the brand voice. We leveraged several affiliate partners from magazines, bloggers, deal sites, and Amazon Associates to promote the product. To ensure consistent tracking and measurement we provided them with Amazon Attribution links specific to each unique placement, which also had the added benefit of earning the brand 10% back on every sale via Amazon’s Brand Referral Bonus Program. 
  • During posting, we leveraged Instagram’s collaboration feature to expand reach between the influencers’ audience and the brand’s audience.

 

Conclusion

VENDO was able to provide a 5x return on the brand’s Affiliate Marketing campaign spend and over 2x ROI on campaign spend aggregated across pay-for-post sales, affiliate sales, and media value. In addition, we were able to solicit usage rights for videos with an estimated $4200 value in content creation costs (based on industry standard UGC costs), driving up the return even higher.
